What Can Lead to a Sugar Sensitivity in Teeth?

Posted on 5/25/2019 by Barbara Ketchum
What Can Lead to a Sugar Sensitivity in Teeth?Being sensitivity to sugar is something that happens a lot more often than not. A lot of people have this problem and while it can be frustrating to deal with, it is something that you will want to address before the wear and tear on the teeth become worse.

Even though there are many causes for this to happen, it is important that it is something that gets taken care of since it can lead to loss of enamel on the outside of the teeth. This is important because the enamel is what protects the outside of the teeth.

Some Reasons That Lead to Sugar Sensitivity

Everyone may have a different reason, but many of the common reasons can include brushing your teeth too hard regularly, enjoying highly acidic foods regularly or loss of enamel from other abrasive motions or actions. When the enamel isn't strong, it can lead to sensitivity happening. This can also mean hot and cold items, not just sugar.

Another reason could be because you have a cavity that hasn't been taken care of. When this is something that continues to sit without being addressed, it not only can become worse, but the tooth may end up being infected if it is not removed, a root canal is not done or a filling if it is not too deep into the area. All types of decay can lead to large problems, which is why speaking with our dentist is important if you are having a sugar sensitivity.
