How to Make the Most of Your Dental Visits in 2019

Posted on 3/25/2019 by Barbara Ketchum
How to Make the Most of Your Dental Visits in 2019Good oral hygiene includes routine dental visits - at least once every 6 months. This will help you prevent things like cavities and other problems. Of course, this time period will vary for each person.

For instance, if you don't typically have trouble with your teeth you may be able to only see your dentist once a year, while those who have a high risk of developing an oral disease will need to see them more frequently than once every 6 months. Regardless of when you see your dentist, there are some things you should do to make the most of the visit.

Make a List of Your Questions and Concerns
You want to be prepared to talk to us about things like bleeding when you brush your teeth; pain or sensitivity; sores in your mouth that won't heal; any problems you're having with brushing or flossing your teeth; clenching your jaw; or grinding your teeth.

Keep us Updated About Your Medical History

We need to know your complete medical history, especially if you have anything like diabetes. Some things will cause you to have a dry mouth, which will increase your risk of cavities. Make sure we also know all about your medicines, vitamins, and supplements you're taking.

Ask us What you can do Better
As with anything, dental health continually changes as new, more effective products become available. While we should be thankful for these new advances and how they improve our oral health, they can also be somewhat confusing.

Now that you know what to talk to us about, it's time to schedule an appointment with our office to do so. We look forward to helping you take good care of your mouth - something that starts with getting answers to all your questions and suggestions for all your needs.
