Cold can help numb the gums and reduce inflammation. Chilled teething rings or a clean, damp washcloth placed in the refrigerator (not the freezer) can provide relief when your baby chews on them.
Gentle Gum Massage
Use a clean finger to gently massage their gums. The pressure can help alleviate some of the discomfort associated with teething.
Teething Biscuits
If your baby has started solids, you can offer teething biscuits designed explicitly for this purpose. Always supervise your baby while they are eating.
Cold Foods
If your baby has started eating solid foods, you can offer chilled, soft foods like yogurt or pureed fruits. Make sure the food is age-appropriate and cut into small, safe pieces.
Pain Relief Gels or Teething Tablets
Consult with your pediatrician before using any over-the-counter teething gels or tablets. Some may contain ingredients that are not recommended for infants. If your pediatrician approves, use them according to the instructions.
Keep the Area Clean
Gently wipe the face, especially around the mouth, to keep the area clean from excessive drool, which is common during teething. Excessive saliva can sometimes cause skin irritation.
